ANDRES LOPEZ: A SUCCESSFUL PERSON

Andres Lopez Forero was born on June 25, 1971 in Bogotá, Colombia. Comedian considered the pioneer of the genre 'Stand-Up Comedy "in his country. In 2006 Universal Music Colombia gave him the DVD of Diamond for his DVD of The Letters Ball, comedy format Stand-up comedy skits containing about different Colombian generations.

Lopez graduated from the College Bachelor of Liceo Navarra of Bogotá, a school renowned for its high academic standards. He started his talent as “cuentero” in the year 1990 at the Andes University where he studied Systems Engineering and Anthropology.

His most recent work is' The Ball of Letters' sociological analysis of life in Colombia since the years 1960 to 2000. By having a family and educational content, this work is characterized as reconciliation between generations and nationalities. To March 2005, more than 300,000 people had attended this work. In August of that same year he presented in front of 44,000 people at the beginning of a concert, was hailed by everybody in the event.
In December 2005, Hard Rock Cafe Bogota Andres Lopez launched The Ball of Letters in DVD format under seal and the production of Universal Music Colombia, with the aim of disseminating their work to Colombians living outside the country and to motivate people to buy the original DVD. On March 2, 2006 Universal Music Colombia handed Andres Lopez DVD diamond to overcome the original 60,000 DVDs sold, making The Letters Ball in the best-selling DVD in the history of Colombia.


In July 2006 Andres Lopez performs successful tour of The International The Letters Ball in four different countries, cities he visited were: Los Angeles, Panama, Quito, Toronto, New York, Miami, Madrid, Houston, Orlando. The presentations were attended from 4500 to 700 people per event.

In January 2007 he introduced his new work I call The Window to create his new DVD that was introduced to the market in April of that year. In 2007 he continued promoting his works to Colombians living abroad, to teach new comedians art Stand up Comedy in Colombia, to create new spaces for creativity as caricature and produce animated television programs.

Andres has a commitment as an artist with the community due to he has donated events to raise funds for social purposes. Also he has delivered to each city that visits a conference on the book 'The Way to Happiness' R Hubbard, there spoke of how to achieve the goals and be happy keeping healthy moral and an ethical commitment. His purpose is to makes good people have the opportunity to improve their lives and do something important.

ALCOHOL ADVERTISING AND YOUTH (Argumentative Essay)

There are a lot of things that influence the young people´s drinking decision such as parent, family problems, peers, friends. Nowadays the alcohol advertising has a great influence in young´s drinking decision, it has increased daily, it worries the society because alcohol carry big damage to the brain, growing and personality. To decrease the alcohol advertising influence in young people´s drinking decision some aspects should be changed, everybody can help to do it.

Firstly, alcohol advertising should change some aspects to decrease the influence in the young people´s drinking decision . To begin, there are many media that publish large amounts of advertising on alcohol, such television, radio, magazines, newspaper and billboards in the streets, it should decrease. Young people are surrounded the advertisements that offer alcohol, if they are in school bus listen it on the radio, if they are at home they see it on television, if they are walking on the streets they see it on billboards due to that young people can fall easily on the alcohol, when it happen young begin with problems in their daily life and people around them mainly with their families. Secondly should take account that alcohol causes a big damage in the young´s health. Industry should decrease the access of the youngs to the alcohol. The consumption of alcohol by young causes great damage in the brain, retarding the growth hinders memory and concentration. Actually consumption of alcohol by the youth has increased therefore have increased difficulties to study and physical development, also the high risk of acquiring serious diseases in adulthood.

Studies demonstrate that children who were more aware of beer advertising express more favourable views on drinking. Also children are more familiar with Budweiser´s television advertising thant cartoons. Ie, there are a lot of ads alcohol, children are surrounded of harmful publicity and this has more influence on the children´s mind than the kids television. Besides scientifics have found the influence of ads alcohol to drinking in youth is more than the influence to buy a particular brand of alcohol .


To conclude, I think to decrease the influence of alcohol advertising in youth´s drinking decision society can decrease the access to alcohol by the young people and reducing sales and provision of alcohol complying with the laws that prohibit the sale of alcohol to underage, society should think in a healthy childhood and youth, no only sell and earn money. Besides, media should show more ads about the damage of the alcohol in underage. Also, media should show alcohol ads in high schedules when children have already gone to sleep. Finally, everybody can help to decrease the youth and chilhood´s high risk fall in the alcohol, influence they to do sports, cultural activities, reading habits, trying to keep way of harmful advertising, it can start right now from our families.
